Unknown weed

imageHi

i was wondering if anyone knows what this weed is? It roots deep and the stems break off at ground level easily. It's not flowered before to my knowledge and grows to kneecap hight. It's spreading underground at a reasonable rate.

    I'm not sure, but it looks a little like Soapwort Saponaria officinalis The method of spread certainly sounds like it. If you break of a leaf and mush it with a few drops of water do you get a thin lather?

    Thanks for that. It's doesn't lather when rubbed with water but comparing to images online it does appear to be soapwart. I've seen some posts on how to try and remove it so will go from there!
