agapanthus pruning

Hey there. I have an agapanthus that comes back year on year in a pot. I have planted some about two months ago and the flowers are dying back already. Should I prune the flower stalks right back.

once they're passed over, cut the whole flower stem right to the ground, ( or as near as you can get. )
