Jasmine in the shade?

Would appreciate any help with this question....our jasmine appears to be thriving despite the horrendous summer we have had here in Russia .....could it do better in the open sunshine as it is in the shade of some very leafy trees.....and if we should move it when is the best time?

It doesn't look much like any jasmine I've seen.
Looks more like a philadelphus from what I can see.
Do the flowers have an orangey scent? if so likely philadelphus (mock orange)
But maybe Russian jasmine are made of sterner stuff

Wow Pete.....shows how much I know .....I'll pop out to the garden and have another sniff......and take a close up of the flowers and leaves
So Pete here goes.....did not get that orangey trace....but my hooter is not the best in summer with my hay fever
There are a few varieties.
Have a look here and see if you can find a match

Pete, many thanks for clearing this up for us, it has prompted me to explore further and found this interesting article....

Ha Ha! so they're one and the same!
I've got 3 varieties of philadelphus in my garden.
I find they get the best flowers from the one in a mostly sunny position, but I've got a couple which are quite shaded and they do well, but not as many flowers.
I would think the best time to move it would be when it's dormant, having cut off most of the top growth. You'll get no flowers the following year though
Cuttings are easy and grow quickly, I done lots - most of my neighbours now have them in their gardens too - maybe just out of politeness
