First ever crop of spuds

Marris Peers. Two weeks earlier than I should have.

Im pretty happy with the results. What do you guys think?

Also took a pot of carrots. Fat but only 2-3 inches long so will leave the other pot another month.

Lovely dark soil you have there image

Did you see the potato farmer talking about the soil he grows potatoes in on Nadiya Hussein's programme yesterday ... the right soil's so important.

I get ridiculously excited about digging potatoes, especially the first batch of each season.  They grow away there in the dark, out of sight, and you don't know what's going on.  It's like finding buried treasure.

Not bad for my first year me thinks.

Got my tomatoes ripening now by cutting some

of the foilage back. Cucumbers are coming thick and fast.

Chillis still green but I hope of ripening :)

Tomatoes ripen whether you remove the foliage or not. But there is no reason to keep non-productive foliage on the plant.

I 've got loads of potatoes and didn't plant a thing this year.  They're all from tiddy potatoes that got missed last year.  Free grub.  Love it.
