hydrangea

I would like a good white hydrangea to be planted in a large pot.  Could anyone recommend a strong plant as I have a windy garden, please?   Thank  you.

Hydrangeas like moist soil so are sure you want to keep one in a pot and water it every day thru spring and summer and into autumn?   There are other shrubs with white flowers that would do better and cope with a dessicating wind.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I agree with Obelixx but if you are certain on a hydrangea, the best suited would be a lace cap, as mopheads & paniculatas have big heavy flowers, which are weighed down with rain, making them more likely to snap. If you can face them against a wall for some wind protection. They will never do as well in a pot as in the ground.
