Brighton Heads

Two of our favourite garden ornaments are our terracotta 'Brighton Heads'.

Picture attached from a few years ago.

Does anyone know how they got their name?

Those heads remind me of the Green Man and the Green Woman - carved into ancient pagan temples. Lots of myths surrounding them. Maybe they are called Brighton Heads because that is where they were made?

  • I know what you mean about the Green Man/Woman connection.

I tried 'Googling' them but might have to improve my 'search term' technique as I kept getting referred to sites about the Brighton and Hove Albion Football managers!!  image

Ha ha ha. Maybe they are images of a former Brighton manager and his wife. They look very nice with the fuchsias in them - fetching hairdos. image
