Sowing carrot seeds

Hi there,

I am sowing the last of my carrot seeds and do not have any sand or grit (only gravel type stones which look too big). I was wondering if I could use cat litter (unused!) It is called "The worlds best cat litter" and is 100% natural corn kernels. It looks and feels very much like sand. I don't know what else to use so if anybody could help with this I would be very grateful.

Thank you

A definite no to th cat litter. When wet it clumps. And stays wet.

  • That is useful  to know  thanks Hogweed. I thought there may be a problem there. I am sowing directly into a large container (a poppy vegtrug).
