Acer losing it's colour

Hello, I have a large potted acer which has drastically lost it's redness - it still looks gorgeous and incredibly healthy but it's now a greenish/purpleish colour which is a real shame. I've tried googling the 'problem' but can't find anything. Can anyone help please?

Not sure it's a problem.
Acers usually lose their colour as the season progresses, before displaying a wonderful show again in the autumn.

What type of acer is it?
Acers are renowned for changing colour through the seasons.
I have one that starts off brilliantly red in the spring then fades to greenish red in the summer. Then the leaves go bright yellow in the autumn before they drop.

Agree with punk and Pete that colour change is normal. Mine starts off bright green and changes to a deep red in the autumn. It's changing a little earlier this year, which I put down to the very hot weather we had earlier in the season.
I agree some of mine are changing colour already. I think the very hot dry spring/ summer in the south especially may be the cause. I saw my ex RHS tutor the other day & he thinks the season is at least a month ahead of normal.
Thank you all for your responses, I'm so used to it being red that it came as a bit of a shock! I've recently given it a huge new pot, new soil and new position and thought any or all of those could be the problem. It still looks very happy though so I'll stop worrying
