Save my apple tree

hi everyone, I have recently retired and have always loved gardening so starting small and learning has I go along, the problem i have is an small apple tree which has been in the garden for about 6 years and has always given fruit, last year it got the white foam bug on I read up and it appears doesnt damage the tree, but ! This year it hasn't thrived at all barely any new shoots one apple and leave crumpled , I have fed watered and compost but to no Avail can I save it ? It makes amazing apple crumbles in the past

A lot of apple trees this year are producing fewer apples because of a few days of very sharp frosts in late Spring that destroyed blossom in the blossoming period, leading to subsequent crop shortfalls in comparison to previous years.
It may also be worth checking up on how to prune your trees later in the year.
