Tomato plants from compost

Hello, I am very new here and I hope you can help.

Recently we moved our compost bin so we spread the compost over the new flower bed area only to discover not long after a ridiculous amount of tomato seedlings coming through. I know it's too late to plant tomato seeds so I am guessing that these will not be successful but wanted your advice on whether to leave them as they are and see what happens, thin them out or just take them out.

Thank you! :)

I get the same - lots of tomato seedlings here and there in the garden from last year's compost, some about 6-8" tall.
They won't grow and produce fruit in this country as it's much too late in the season.
You can leave them if you wish or pull them out.
