Sad looking Echinacea

gor this earlier in the year and accidentally left it in the conservatory on a hot day back in May and it scorches the leaves. Now the whole stem has turned black. Anyway to save it? Was going to try and cut it right back?!

Cut it down, feed and water it and put it outside. It should resprout but may not flower this year.
