Sick sunflowers?

Hello, I would appreciate some help.
I don't do much gardening and I only have a tiny flowerbed, which I have planted about 20 sunflowers in. The soil quality is poor I think, they were doing OK but one if them started developing weird curly hard leaves, and now about 6 of them seem to gave stunted leaves too. I think it is spreading along but I have no idea what the problem is. 
should I pull the sick ones up to stop it spreading, or is it a problem with the soil. I'll be gutted if they all die now. Thanks
