Solanum Album/Jasmine - Discoloured leaves

Hi there everyone. I bought a Jasminoides Album earlier in the year and have had it sitting in a 7" pot until I decide where I want to put it. It is in Lidl peat-free compost which i've used on other plants this year that have done well. But this Jasmine has a kind of bronze looking discolouration to the leaves. The plant hasn't grown much since buying it, but it is just starting to flower now. All i've given it is water and Doff liquid seaweed.

I cant see any bugs or pests, or evidence of pest. So maybe this is a deficiency or disease issue?

Any idea's what the problem could be? Cheers

As I mentioned in another thread , try Sequestrene plant tonic ; I have always found it very good !

If it isn't a chemical deficiency , it will benefit the plant anyway . Maybe also feed with MiracleGro as this contains valuable trace-elements .

This plant can go purple/bronze in the leaves and I don't think it is a big concern. It will not be growing much if you are keeping it in a pot. Make sure it is kept in a nice warm sunny position and close to a wall to prolong protection against cold winds. You will need to feed it often if you decide to keep it in a pot.

Thanks guys, I've decided where I'm going to put it now, so it should be out of the pot soon. If I'm going to buy fertiliser,  i'd rather go organic, that so I can use it all around the garden. Can anyone recommend a comprehensive organic feed that contains micronutrients too?

In the mean time I'll give it some aquarium water which is dosed with Seaham Fourish Comprehensive. This contains a bunch of micro nutes apparently so might help a bit?

    Cheers guys!

I think a seaweed feed would be perfect for this shrub/climber.

I have given it some seaweed feed a few times. Not as much as I'd like though. The pot has been exposed to rain, plus the jasmine seems so drink-shy (pot stays heavy for ages after watering) so I have not been watering it much for fear of over-watering.

Hopefully once in the ground I can get it to good health. I'm going to put it where I used to have a huge Clematis, huge as in 5ft wide and ran all the way up to our guttering, covered in a carpet of pale pink flowers ( that was until I killed it by cutting it back too much!)

    Cheers ?

Try to plant it on a south or south east/west aspect. This plant is very vigorous, but to get more flowers, it needs sun and heat. It's now taking over Jasminum Officinale as the other alternative white flower climber in warm areas in the UK. Much more quicker growing, provided the soil is free draining and not too heavy. Will climb very far and high if you let it.

I don't think it is in too bad health, it's just being restricted in the pot and probably needed feeding. I grow the slightly hardier version Potato vine in a small pot and it puts on almost no growth throughout the year. But if given space for the roots, they will completely grow tall and thick.
