Bank planting
We havr just removed 10 large leylandi from the edge of our garden. They were grown on top of a bank next to the road past our house. We have put a fence so the garden is safe but now need to think about the bank/hedge which now looks a mess. Thinking i need to remove the perenial weeds, add some manure but then im at a loss....ideas range from loads of bluebells and daf bulbs or rhodedendron or ivys and ceonathus. Any odeas gratefully received.

Thanks,
The bank is 8ft from road level to the level of our garden, about 15ft long. At one end it is basically vertical but at the other it is a bit more of a gentle slope, 60 degrees I'd say. It is west facing, no shade and is quite a dry stony soil. tree surgeon said the soil would be acid due to the leylandi.Stumps haven't been fully removed as there were some concerns about the stability of some parts if the roots were removed, but they are ground down.
It sounds as if it might suit Mediterranean plants like sage, rosemary, lavender, hyssop, thyme etc. Achilleas and agastaches would also enjoy it, and if you don't get very cold winters, cistus and some of the other shrubby salvias too. All of these thrive in poor, stoney soil so you wouldn't need to add much manure, perhaps a little topsoil if it is very rooty, with added grit.
