leggy mint

hi everyone.we recently purchased 2 mint plants which we planted in the garden still in pots to stop from spreading. While the spearmint is looking healthy the apple mint has turned leggy with some of the leaves yellow/brown  and some with a white furry coating .Any ideas ? .
