Tatton Garden show

Hello! I wondered if anyone could tell me how much time you would need to get round the show? I would be doing a 3.5-4hr drive to get there so am wondering what is a reasonable amount of time to see everything comfortably. I want to know if it is worthwhile doing the trip. I missed the gardening Scotland show and can't find any other shows up here. If anyone knows of upcoming shows up here please so let me know. Cheers

I haven't been but heard it is fantastic. If I was you I would drive up the night before and stop somewhere and then you can have a whole day to enjoy the show
Harrogate flower show is the 15th to 17th September. Usually really good.
An overnight is not possible as i have beasts to care for at home. I would have to be there and back in a day
That's even further away from me! I reckon there is more chance of good weather at Tatton. How's the harrogate weather in September and how long to do the whole show do you reckon?
Thanks for all the replies, very helpful. I think i'll give it a miss after chrissieb's review. I would be able to visit some specialist nurseries nearer to home and buy some nice plants using the time and money instead.
Cheers everyone
I went 10 years ago and had a thoroughly good time - plenty of specialist nurseries present selling interesting plants. There was a range of large and small gardens including the back-to-backs which are always fun and the bedding schemes which can be fun or frightful depending on point of view and taste. I went with friends from the old Beeb board days and had a great time meeting up with other boarders too.

If you want a day out it's good value but I advise taking your own picnic. If you're after specialist plants I suggest you go to specialist nurseries.
Some crackin pics there, thanks for sharing
