Increase Lawn Size

Hello, Our lawn has shrunk in size over the past 300 years from people edging it. Is there a way to increase the size of it? It's raised up about 5 inches from the gravel surrounding it. I can't find anything on Google so joined this forum. Any help appreciated.

I thought you had agreed with DH to edge with pavers but metal edging as also a good option -that is what I have. If I had more room though I would edge with slightly sunken pavers so the mower wheel could run on that & cut the edge at same time.
