Is my hedge dying??

HI!!!

Im having a problem with my privet hedge, its abut 4years old and it has established really well apart from this section, its always been thinner in growth than the rest of the hedge but this year it has thinned out at an alarming rate, the foliage that is left has a discolouration,

I'm no expert, so i need to know if it is actually dying, if not will whatever it is spread, is there anything i can do to save this section or should i just start again with this section??

Any help would be appreciated

I think there may be an issue with the photo uploading again John. It can also happen if you try to load pix which are too big, so it may be worth resizing them and trying again.

However, it sounds possible that there is a problem with the hedge.. Another member here had to remove his established  privet fairly recently because of it. I don't want to worry you, as it could be simply that there's an issue with the ground where that bit is planted, as it's a relatively new hedge, and they are generally trouble free. Once we can see your photos, it will help with further advice image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
