Pumpkin vine problems

Hello everyone

I've only recently taken a real interest in gardening and am trying my hand at growing a big pumpkin.

I've had a pumpkin on my vine for a couple weeks now. The problem is that in the early stages when I was moving my pumpkin onto a piece of tile I broke the stalk attaching my pumpkin to the vine. It didn't come all the way off but as the pumpkin gets bigger, the stalk breaks more.

Now the pumpkin has been growing just fine but I think it's getting to the stage where there will be serious moisture loss through the break.

Any ideas on how to fix it? Binding it with a bandage of some sort?

I would love to set another pumpkin but my vine seems to only be putting out male flowers 

Any help would be appreciated
