    Marchantia polymorpha (Liverwort) ; grows in damp places .

    Is that area poorly drained?  If so, I think it's a female form of liverwort called Marchantia polymorpha.  See here:

    Yes, liverwort ... with it's 'star shaped'  female fruiting bodies..
