Moving autumn fruiting raspberry to a new bed

raorao Posts: 2

I have grown autumn fruiting raspberries, variety Polka, for a number of years. I usually prune the canes to ground level when the leaves have fallen.(Mid November). I believe that some growers prune in early spring but I have found that with mild winters, determining whether the plants are still dormant can be problematical.

I intend to have a new raspberry bed in a different location, but I am unsure whether to transplant the existing raspberry plants in mid November or wait until early spring. Should the old canes be pruned before or after pruning?

I would move them in November with the canes left on to make lifting them easier then prune back to the ground when they are in the new bed.

I moved a lot in the late spring, there was lots of healthy growth sprouting   they look fine but of course I don't know what the yield will be like

not so however the summer ones all died except one, discovered subsequently there is a thing called Raspberry replant disease!
