Should I repot tomato?

Good morning, hope you a having a lovely weekend. Just a quick question, I was given a large tomato plant (not sure of variety) which is now about a metre and a half and in a 25cm pot. This seems a little small, the roots are poking out of the bottom-should I repot it and risk knocking off all of the fruit and flowers? Or do tomatoes do ok in small pots? What would you do? I just can't decide!

Yes, I'd pot it on, planting it nice and deep - mine are in pots the size of a bucket ... you'll just have to do it carefully ... another pair of hands might be helpful if available image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Fab, decision made, I'll do it! Thank you ?
