Dog Woods
Hi
Hubby and I have 2 well established dog woods. One red and one yellow.
No matter how we prune them they get out of control. They grow into huge trees and they grow 6ft in all directions.
We don`t want to get rid of them back can anybody give us any advice on how to control them and make them grow upwards and not all over the place.

cut them back very hard in late winter, just a few inches above the ground,
Through the summer remove anything that goes in a direction you don't like
In the sticks near Peterborough
Morning Nutcutlet.
Thank you for that. We just didn`t want to kill them because they are lovely

I unwittingly bought one online, I must have like the look of it when mature. Are they slow/fast growing? This is what I received, does it need pinching? I haven't a clue what to do with it.
