Apple Tree no fruit

Have two apple trees in the garden, different variety chosen to cross pollinate.

one tree has six apples the other has none. The one with no apples produced four apples the year after planting, they were large and very tasty. Six apples last year but they were very small and looked not nice, this year non.

Should I dig it up and start again?

Have they been fed and watered?

Some of our trees have no fruit this year and they are at least 20 years old. As said ..patience and better spring weather.

  • I have a friend who has several apple and pear trees and they haven't done very well this year at all despite having plenty of blossom. Cold spell just at the wrong time so the flowers didn't get pollinated then we had a prolonged dry spell too so the pollinated flowers didn't set themselves so no fruit this year.
