Identify weed please
This weed is spreading in my paddock and garden, any idea what it is please? And how to eradicate it?
Currently 2 - 6" high, comes each year. Even pushes up paving slabs.

Two different plants, I think the second one is possibly a "virginia creeper henryana" or something similar.
The first one looks very much like suckers from a cherry or some other type of prunus ... any trees nearby, or any felled in the last couple of years?

Thank for replies.
Thought both were same but will need to check again.
1st one is in an area of old orchard and has apple and plum trees relatively nearby. Nothing felled in last 2-3 years.
Any way to stop them reappearing / spreading? Grass cut every couple of weeks so tends to keep them down but definitely getting worse.
Suckers from the plum tree rootstocks is the most likely explanation for the first ones.
Regular mowing is the best way of managing them in the circumstances.
