Is this plant dangerous?

Hellimageo!

Hello!

I have this plant growing all over my garden. I have no idea what it is but some visitors think it might be dangerous. Would love if someone could help me identify it! Thanks in advance!!

Dangerous ? You've got some weird visitors.

Ask them for an explanation on these dangers and let us know what they say.

I think it's one of the several Sonchus  ... sow thistle ... not dangerous ... another of the plants I used to pick by the arm full  for pet rabbits, goats and the pigs on the farm  when I was a child.

The leaves don't look quite the right colour for the Sonchus oleraceus - the Common Sowthistle ... they have a sort of glaucus tinge, but ere are a few other varieties, plus hybrids between them ... however none of them are dangerous image

Send us a photo of it when it's in flower and we'll be able to confirm whether it's a dandelion or a sow thistle ...... and then, f you don't keep pet rabbits and goats, you can pull them up before the seeds ripen and drift across your neighbours' gardens and you rapidly lose popularity image

The reason I don't think it's a dandelion is because, if you look at the centre top of the picture, there's an upright stem with leaves growing from it. It looks to me as if that's going to produce a flower 'spike' .Dandelions don't do that . image

    Sonchus arvensis or something similar.

Some people see Japanese Knotweed or Giant Hogweed in every plant they don't know. image

They might just mean 'pull it up quick before it seeds everywhere' image
