Radish confusion

I started radishes indoors and then transplanted outdoors.
I decided to dig up as been planted awhile nothing was grown underground. roots of plant looked healthy, leaves did have holes.
What am I doing wrong?

I agree ... sow them direct ... the check they receive when transplanting can cause them to bolt.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thank you for the advice. Yes its rats tails right the pods they are delicious.
Will have to give it all another go...
