Olive Bonsai - lost?

Hi,

my bonsai tree's not been well lately; lost lot of leaves and branches. 

The leaves turn brown very quickly and fall off within days.

I trimmed hm down drastically which I see was a mistake.

Would you be able to give me some advice? I've taken him to local stores but we don't have any bonsai specialists around here unfortunately. 

I kept him at indirect sunlight but kept his further way from the window past few weeks - since he got worse. I've had him for over a year now - have not been repotted.

I attached photos from today - after watering - I let him soak (10/15 mins).

    I'm bumping this up the list. My only experience with bonsai involved killing off a lot.

    thank you for this - I have already bought it like this and was told to keep the vires on etc.

    I'll contact he bonsai societies and see what I can do
