Laurel hedge will it ever stop

Hi

We have moved to a property with a massive laurel hedge its approx 21 foot tall and at least 6 foot deep. Any trimming we do just seems to encourage even more growth. If we just leave it how large could it get?

Thank you

My neighbour has laurels as a boundary hedge between our gardens which also has brambles, sycamore and elderberry saplings tangled up in it. I hate it with a vengeance but I'm stuck with it sadly. image

I have my own holly tree (not my choice, it came with the house when I bought it) and I have to crawl underneath it to get at the hedge so I can try and murder it. Grrrrr !!!
