growing roses from seed

I was given a gift box of "name a rose" there were rose seeds in it and I have managed to grow 2 seedlings from 6, One as you can see is very strong, the other is well a bit weak looking.
'
Im not sure what to do next, I know I should pot on the weaker one to a larger pot. I don't know what to do next with my strong rose. I cut of some outside leaves as they were wilting, there is a small clump in the middle of the rose it looks like seed heads is this normal and why do the plants look so different considering they came from the same seed batch? any advice would be great, wee hope to cherish this named rose for future bouquets etc.

Sorry to say, neither of those are roses.
The one on the left looks like chenopodium aka fat hen
The one on the right looks like a member of the cabbage family.
Methinks you've been conned. Sorry.
Rose seeds often take a year to germinate. Plant them and then cover in grit, and leave outside. They germinate in spring and have very obvious rose leaves.
So the seeds do not say anything on the outside? I just Googled this name a rose gift thing and all do not state what seeds. Just says flowering plant on one.
apart from odd things like mosses and ferns, pretty much all plants flower, eventually.
Sadly neither of them is a rose and looking at "Name a Rose" online, it must be quite a lucrative con. Either that or none of the rose seeds grew and a couple of weeds muscled in on the act.
As most roses are grafted onto a rootstock, any rose grown from seed is going to be an unknown quantity.
There are actually a fair few gift companies offering a similar thing called "name your rose" with coasters, diaries and nice looking note books, and some kind of registering your name card and a packet of seeds. Many do not say much about the seeds, only one company stated 'flowering plant'.
Ohhhhhh dear
You would do better to grow some seeds from a rose hip on a rose in your garden . If the bees have been busy you might just possibly get something nice.
I grew this one from a mixed packet of species roses. (from a reputable seed seller!)
oh how awful, my sister bought this as a special gift, I cant believe they would send rose seeds with a certificate to register (and a poster), once you register its unique to you. well I guess I will get on their webpage to complain.
I bought seed cutting compost planted the seeds and followed their instructions, my sister will be so disappointed as am I. Thank you all for your help.
