Looks like one of the Fargesias ; could be F.murielae . I had a similar species , got bored with it so took it out . Started to slowly encroach onto other things .
A matter of patience and I'm afraid hard-work . I literally prised the tough roots out with a large garden-fork piece by piece . Even then , there is no guarantee it won't rear its ugly head again .
Personally I think most bamboos are best in large pots sunk in the ground to restrict them . Don't work too hard !

The root system seems to go all round the garden. Becoming very invasive and spreading around the garden.
