Wooly Aphid
I've have a problem with Wooly Aphid, along with Green and Black Fly every year.
As a rule normal shop bought sprays have worked well, but this year my Crab Apple is absolutely covered with Wooly Aphid, and nothing seems to be working.
I think Part of the problem is its a very large tree, and spraying the whole thing is almost impossible.
Anyone got any ideas please.

There's never an easy solution. If you have a large tree, my recommendation of using a stiff broom and scrubbing off these areas will be a tough job. I don't think you can do much if you are not prepared to get up on a ladder and either hose down the areas or scrub them off. I have read on the RHS that encouraging earwigs to your garden may be the way forward. Their presence keeps aphid populations down. To encourge this, stuff loose hay into flower-pots around trees. Maybe something to try.
