Evergreen ground cover
Hi - I have a bed 12m long and about 1.5 deep. At the moment it has half a dozen huge Nandina in it, happily thriving.
The bed is south facing, but there's a lot of exposed ground around the Nandina and while the mulch is doing a pretty good job of keeping it weed free, that won't last long!
I'd like to find some evergreen ground cover that'll fill in quite quickly, and not grow to be much taller than about half a metre.
Any ideas for some great plants for that site?
Thanks

I have dwarf, scented dianthus in a south facing bed here and they've filled out very nicely. Only 6" or so high, fine silvery leaves which will contrast beautifully with your nandina in its red winter phase and pale pink flowers with deeper pink centres that will look good too when your nandina is in its green phase. Just need a pair of scissors for snipping off the dead flowers to encourage more.
You could also try common or garden saxifrage London Pride which has low rosettes of leaves and fine feathery flower stems.
