getting evergreen magnolia to flower

How big is it? They need a few years to establish and flower. After 25 years, mine still has flowers sporadically through summer. They don't flower in a mad flush like M. soulangeana.
Magnolia grandiflora is from the American south. It needs maximum sun and some shelter. They are often grown against south facing walls.
