    Because The President is a Group 2 and only needs minimal pruning,to I would hesitate to grow it through a living tree.

    It would be great growing over an arbour or arch. image

    Again, thanks :)  Have decided to let the clematis romp freely over railings and let the honeysuckle have the tree to itself.  I'm sure my plants will be just as grateful as I am!

    Sounds a lovely solution.  When you plant the clematis, plant it a good 6 inches deeper than it was in the pot image
