Hydrangea cuttings and pollinating.

I have 2 separate Hydrangea plants bought from different garden centres so they are in no way related.  One is in my front garden, its younger and smaller than the one in my back garden which is very well established and quite large.

I was wondering what would happen if i took cuttings from both of them and when they had rooted I planted the cuttings next to the other plant?

Would I just get 2 new plants?  Would/could they breed via pollination?  Would the established plant stop the cutting from growing?

It's not something I'm dead set on doing I was mainly just wondering.

If you take a cutting from one of your hydrangeas, the cutting will be identical to the plant from which it came irrespective of where you plant it (unless soil conditions force a colour change), and planting it close to another hydrangea will have no effect on either other than competition for water and nutrients.
In other words, you would just get 2 new hydrangeas both identical to the parent plants.
