    It's not a poppy but an Anemone coronaria (probably in the De Caen group.)  They are perennial if happy. image

    Thanks Bob! It was sold to me as a blue poppy seed.  It's very pretty.  When you say if happy do you mean if the plant is happy it will return?  Thanks for your help!

    Yes, if it likes where it is growing it will come back each year, usually a bit earlier than this though - March or April.

    I just planted the bulb in a pot this May. I am new gardener!!  I live in zone 5a, so hopefully it makes the winter. I do love the colour an every bulb has bloomed.
