aloe vera

Hello, 

I am complete beginner gardener. I 've got this beautiful aloe vera, this year for the first time did this beautiful flower that now I think is time to cut. Where and how I cut it without damaging the plant?

And another question is I notice that there is a white powder, is the plant that produces that for some reasons?

    Not sure that it is an Aloe vera (it is an Aloe but not sure which one!).

    Just cut the flower stalk off as near to the leaves as possible.

    Off to ask some experts as to ID image

    The experts are saying that it is an Aloe or even a Gasteria or a hybrid of the two!!

    So you now know what it could be and also that it is NOT Aloe vera!!!!!
