Jade plant care

Hello everyone,

i took some cuttings and let them root in a jar. Two weeks ago i potted them. Since then they are loosing volume and nice vivid colour every day little by little. Leaves look wrinkled and tips of one of plants turned little yellow, so i didnt water the plant for some time. I am starting to get little confused about the care.

Plant which had yellow leaves is slowly getting darker colour again, but all plants are still wrinkled and volume is completely gone.

What to do?

I just want to know, when you say root in a jar, is this in water? From what I know of these plants, they don't like excessive wet. You should just leave the cutting to dry up. Once that has happen and it's formed a crust which could take up to a week. Then dip it into a rooting hormone and again, wait for it to dry up. Then pot them into a very light soil. You can get special compost or make compost with vermeculite put in. Keep them moist be never pour too much water in and hopefully it should start growing.

For your current plant, make sure you water very small amounts evenly. Make sure the soil is not holding too much moisure. Hope it recovers.

Yes, they rooted in water. Once the roots were large enough, which took one to two weeks, i potted them.

If they have rooted in water, carry on with what you have done and keep the plant well ventilated as it sounds like it got too wet at some stage. Water them carefully to avoid a period of drying up and then sudden watering. This will stress the plant. As long as it's planted in free draining soil to begin with, it should be fine.
