in response to Monty's request for a good labelling system I would like to share my method. I use black labels and a tippex pen. The white writing just gets bleached even whiter by the sun sun,is waterproof and therefore never fads

Is a tippex pen a correcting pen? ie used to white out incorrect spellings in printed documents. That's what I recall off years ago...

I use a brother p touch labeller with laminated plastic labels.
Very high tech! We collect discarded wooden lolly sticks and write on them with a fine-tipped permanent marker.
