Help my hydrangea please!

I planted a hydrangea about three months ago and tge leaves are slowly turning brown then dying off.. the plant has new growth on it and tge young leaves are healthy. It seems to be the mature leaves. The brown starts at the edges and spreads the leaves then die image. I am watering the plant well and i have put compost down... can anybody please advise?

perrsonally I would do no pruning now. Your right Chloe it is cosmetic. You may discover the flowers will be smaller has well.

I would remove those bad leaves.  Not prune the whole plant, just the leaves.

The plant will be fine with them left on
