Amaryllis flowering!

I rescued this Amaryllis earlier in the year it had been thrown out, had suffered the frost and when I found it it was looking fairly sick.  I just put it on a low shelf in my greenhouse and had basically been ignoring it as I thought it was dormant till later in the year.  I was quite surprised when I went to move it as it was in the way to find it with its stem bent over and in full flower with another bud about to open. Can anyone advise on how I should look after it. I've never had one before, this belonged to my Mother-in-Law all I know is it used to flower around Christmas.  Any tips would be helpful.

Ease off and finish watering in the Autumn ; the leaves will feed the bulb throughout the summer ; when leaves start to turn yellow/brown they can be cut off . Store frost-free and bone dry during winter and in Spring new leaves will emerge ; then treat as any other plant .

The stalk can be removed when flowering ceases . ( Nice colour by the way)!!

PS :- Following winter dormancy , in all likelyhood the flower-bud will emerge first ; place in sunny position and water lightly until leaves appear .
