The creature on the plant is a ladybird larva ; beneficial to most gardens.

A welcome sign when I saw 5-6 on my hibiscus, hoovering up the aphids after over a month of squishing them myself.

Ladybird larvae are scary -looking things. I'm sure many are murdered.

It would be good if the site posted a pic on the home page informing people that they were friends not foes.

    In London. Keen but lazy.

I can only assume that there lots of baby ladybirds (ladybabies) in the larva?

After a few days of them feeding thet attach to a leaf or stem and "curl" then emerge as a nice round ladybird. Nature is amazing.
