I once planted 2 new borders either side of a new arch and trellis panel combo in shades of blue and yellow starting with daffs, tulips, hyacinths, clamassia, hemerocallis and clematis.

All the tulips and hyacinths came up pink!  The clamassias died after one season in a very bad winter and both clematis disappeared underground for 3 years.  The blue one is still going strong but the yellow only lasted one season.  The hemerocallis was yellow and was one I'd divided myself.

    I love those dahlias.

I agree chrissie, and some colours are hard to photograph I've noticed.

I haven't photographed tropical dream but the photo of romance has remained resolutely orangeimage
