Penstemon

B3B3 Posts: 27,505

I've bought quite a few varieties of penstemon and also taken some successful cuttings.

They're all in 1 or 2 litre pots. I repotted them a while ago.

They all seem big enough to plant in the ground now but I've been a bit loath to do it while the ground is so dry.

When should I plant them? Should I do it now , early autumn or wait til spring?

Thanks

I'd water both ,the plants, and the ground then leave overnight and plant tomorrow.

Yes,I'd do the same.As long as you keep an eye on them and water as necessary.

I always feel they are better in the ground.Gives them a chance to get established before winter.

Ok. Will do. I know I'm being overprotective but I must let them go out into the world I suppose.

I know how you feel, but it's for the best image
