How high does Kale grow?

Hi.
We're growing kale for the first time this year and want to make a make shift cage as there are so many pigeons around our plot, but I'm struggling to find out how high I need to make my cage. Can anyone advise as to how high kale grows?

which type of kale?
cavolo nero and the siberian kales can get up to about a metre - depends how close the plants are together- close spacing = taller plants. Sutherland kale maybe 1200mm, curly kale is shorter. I've never grown walking stick kale but I gather it can top 2m.

And you need the netting to be at least a foot higher than the kale ... otherwise the pigeons will land on it and reach through.
I would use a fine netting that will keep the butterflies out too.
