Black flies around climbing rose
hello
i planted a david Austin 'the generous gardener' climbing rose last month and recently Ive noticed there's loads of little black flies on the wall around it and a couple of the buds on it turned black, theres quite a few flowers that have bloomed lovely but some have come out looking different.
any ideas what this could be please and how to treat it?
I have a clematis growing next to it, that has quite a lot of ants on it so I'm not sure if that's normal either?!
Thank you ????

Just found this little fella whether he's to do with any of it it?!
The problem is quite common and since your plant has grown so quickly in such a short time, that is why it is a magnet for this sort of infestation. Being it is the first year, don't worry too much about the flowers. I think you can allow to cut off some growth. Your plant is using all its energy to bring up new shoots when in reality the roots needs to grow and settle in first. If you are very worried about the look for now, set your hose on jet spray and water off the flies.
