Non flowering honeysuckle

I've an old honeysuckle that's east facing. It has been there about 10 years. As I hike in the local park I pass loads of honeysuckle in full bloom. However, mine has no flowers at all. Is it possible it's too old? I'm thinking of cutting it down to the ground and planting in bare root rose bushes in the autumn as it's taking up loads of space and is straggly, plus it's not flowering.
do honeysuckles stop flowering as the age? Would some nice shrub roses be a suitable bush to plant in place of the honeysuckle?
thanks for the advice.

Age shouldnt be an issue, I posted on here a couple of months back I had a new (last year planted) which had dead dry brown leaves, wondered if it was beyond hope, is now lowering, the base I think of honeysuckle and clematis always looks ugly brown stick, what about putting a rose in front of it.
Oh, its now flowering! I find the "garden" varieties smell better in the evenings, its been so hot I have been gardening, watering after the sun has gone from m back garden, after 8pm, and one tiny flowers smells amazing.
