Mr

Hi Could you please tell me why my figs on my 18 year old tree (about 12-14 foot high) planted in the border, the figs develop very well and turn brown, hang down and drop, but  when cut open the seed !! (fruit) is not, just a thick layer of pith !!, and very little seed in the centre, !!!.

It may be a 'sterile' caprifig - non-edible. I have a lovely big fig tree and was excited to inherit it with my house... it bears many fruits, but is a non-edible type - very disappointing.

My garden and I live in South Wales.
