Winter Flowering Pansies
I have pansies, also primroses and violas in a large planter. They flowered right through winter. They are now several inches tall and still giving some flowers.
I'm wondering what I need to do to them so that they flower again next winter. Do let them keep flowering, I cut them back, repot them or - - - ?

The primroses should be fine if you remove the seed heads. As to the pansies and violas, you could try cutting them back to see if they put on new growth but it is probably best if you regard them as annuals and get some new plants for next winter. Violets will carry on regardless but the less robust members of the family don't last so well.
I'd chuck them into the compost bins and buy fresh for next winter.

Thank you both,
that's really helpful. They are still flowering as I keep deadheadfing them. I'll try cutting them back in August/Sept to see what happens through autumn. But I'll get new ones anyway.
